SIHANOUKVILLE
This is the only place for diving in Cambodia. There are several site including the island of Koh Rong, but all trips leave from here
PHNOM PENN
Both of the dive shops in Shanoukville have offices here for training, but diving is done from Sihanoukville

TAKE ME THERE
There are international flights into Cambodia to Phnom Penn and Semp Rep (Ankor Wat). From there to Sihanoukville is an interesting bus ride or very slow train. Ferries now run to Sihanoukville just the other side of the Thai border.
WHERE TO STAY
There are any number of backpackers places and reasonable hotels. Staying here shouldn’t stretch the budget
LOGISTICS
If you book up or do a course in Phnom Penh, then the dive shop will arrange transport to Sihanoukville, otherwise you need to get yourself to there to dive!
TAKE ME THERE
Most people will visit from another Asian country, rather than fly directly here from Europe. International airports are Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (for Angkor Wat). Popular now are the land routes from Thailand, either boat to Sihanoukville, or crossing into Poipet.
WARNING: Some travellers report that the immigration people at the border crossings ask more for the visa than the official cost. In some cases they say the visa is more expensive at the border (it is not!), other times they say it is for an ‘express’ service, otherwise they deliberately keep you waiting! It’s up to you wether to pay and keep the corruption going, or refuse to pay more than the official cost. Welcome to Cambodia!!
Monsoon is May till Oct and diving can be affected
Not the greatest place for diving, but it can make a break after you are ‘templed’ out!
VISAS
Visa on arrival at the international airports cost US$20 for 30 days.
Departure tax at the airport is an additional $20
